Hello Friends!
What a month it’s been! I’ve certainly had a goodtime/great run, checking things off my list, with a mixture of practical and fun.

Baby’s First Tabis
I’m proud to announce the addition of these Tabis to the FashionBabe family.
If you’ve seen some of my previous posts, you’ll know I’ve been manifesting these for a while. I was open to the style, but was hoping for heels or loafers. I happened to stumble upon these whilst visiting some friends at work.
I would like to thank The Academy for putting these in my path and to everyone who sent their good energy along the way.
This model is fine as hell.
Plus I need a new hat this winter.
Sadly this is sold out, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any resale possibilities.
Honourable mentions also include this Yankees Beret, which is what led me to finding the one above.
Now that I know New Era does this sort of thing, I’ll definitely be paying more attention come the summer.
There’s a new different shearling jacket on my list now.
I gave up on waiting for the COS jacket and just decided to find another one. It wasn’t the end of the world, although I do think it would be great for miniskirts during winter fun — good length.
I also like this one on Grailed:
The Patchwork is Great.
Very Architectural.
Is it too early for Spring Shoes?
I don’t think so.
I am shopping Spring items at the moment (after this jacket and the Tabis, of course… and a hat, maybe). It’ll be March before you know it and just like how you should start shopping for a coat in August (not when you need one) you should also start to consider spring things in winter.
Honestly, it makes the season a little more bearable.
My search for shoes continues and I’m clearly in the Tabi phase of my life and couldn’t resist these Nike Rifts.
I’m not a huge fan of sneakers, so when it comes to everyday comfortable shoes, I like that I still get the sporty look, while it being an interesting shoe.
They’re too cute!

A Big Black Dress
I’m looking for a Black gown. Initially I thought just to have it in my closet and complement the Yellow one as an alternative, but then I also remembered that I’ll need one for my friend’s wedding in March — so there’s some urgency now, lol.
Ideally it will be just like my Yellow one, but with straps: fitted bodice, large gown, tea length, etc., etc. I’m trying not to be swindled by anything too trendy; I’m really looking for something I’ll be wearing for the rest of my life.
… Yes, but without the texture:
I’m bangin with this one heavy!
Yes, but Black:
Still figuring it out…
I’m not too much what to do with my hair yet. I had to take out some wig braids because she did them way too tight and I was legit scared I would never have hair in my middle part ever again. Not gonna lie, it’s still tender there :(
I want to give my hair a break, but also my afro isn’t at a cute length to do anything with it: too long to be a TWA and too short to justify and sustain a blowout.
Recently, I’ve come across a few Black women who have permed their hair at this length, either to help with the grow out process or just for the short style and I’m lowkey considering it.
It was interesting tho, because when both of them told me (albeit in separate conversations) they said it in a hush tone.
There’s definitely some stigma there around perms and chemically treating one’s hair, especially in the Black world, but they’re both giving Nia Long, so I can’t really argue.
Personally, I don’t care. Do what works for you and where you are with your hair. The only thing holding me back from doing it is that my hair is already blonde and bleached and I just feel like that’s a recipe for disaster for my hair.
So, I don’t know…
I definitely want something that is relatively easy to maintain and style everyday, which is one of the reasons I’m not going back to short hair because who has the time to be at the barber’s every week to maintain?!
Thank you so much for reading!
Until the next one,
Ciao!

That beret is FIRE! Also, perm the hair if you wan't its just hair & congrats on the tabis!
