This month I decided to buy everything I liked, adopting a new Rule of 3.
Under this rule, I would either limit my purchases to roughly 300 dollars or 3 items:
• 300 is roughly my average cost per outfit
• 3 items is roughly an entire outfit
Following this rule to help me practice patience while online shopping, in particular, and also making sure I’m getting the best bang for my buck, especially with regards to shipping and duty costs.
While I’m still buying new clothes, I’m also doing a lot of vintage and secondhand shopping — often ordering from individual people who have their own lives and things going on.
I’m definitely being more mindful of the speed of shipping, its associated costs, and the environmental impact of getting my things around.
»TL;DR: I’m being more conscious about my shopping, whether buying new or secondhand. I’m working on getting the most use of my dollar by either grouping orders together — either through dollar value or units per transaction. But if I had to buy only one thing this month, it would be these GANNI Loafers.
