I have a job interview Saturday (yay me), so I’ve decided to treat/congratulate myself with a mini shopping spree — both in preparation for said interview and for my own vanity.
Why wait ‘til Tuesday, you might ask?
Well it’s a holiday here this weekend and everything will be closed Monday. And if they aren’t closed Monday, I will certainly be out of commission :)
To organise myself, lest I get distracted and buy things I don’t need, I’ve prepared some slides of items I’ll be looking to find. There’s probably a lot of overlap with some of the things I’ve already mentioned in some of my other posts, but bear with me:
I need a pair of loafers or some sort of quasi dress shoe. I used to work at a shoe store (shoutout Cole Haan) and had literally enough shoes to drown myself. But since I went through a phase of “I don’t deserve anything nice,” and gave them all away, it’s been a very lean category in my closet.
What I’d really like to find is a good pair of throw-on-to-go-anywhere-and-do-anything type shoe that goes with most of what I already own, and something a little more feminine.
I’m heavily eyeing the Céline Heeled Oxfords (#8), but I have a feeling I’m a 40 in Céline, while the one’s linked are 39. Plus, I’d have to order them and would they come on time? Who knows, friends… who knows.
I’m also open to this shoe being a boot, since we are in fall and my cowboys need a rest. Not pictured are the Shriver Boot by Doc Martens, which will likely be my fall back if I can’t find anything vintage or secondhand in time.
I haven’t had a short wool Peacoat in a while and I think it’s time to add it back in the mix. I like shopping men’s coats because their short coats are often the perfect just-covers-your-butt length, and they’re relaxed enough to actually fit sweaters and other garments underneath. Not to mention accessible and useful pockets!
I don’t really have an everyday tailored coat I like, so it would be a good addition as well.
Jeans are always a must, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I don’t have a good pair of throw on denim either.
The stockings are honestly just for fun, although I do need a new pair, and a new Black belt would be nice. The Black belt I currently have is very Western and just doesn’t always give the air of sophistication I like.
I also need some white tops — literally just white t-shirts, as I currently have none (how and why, I couldn’t even tell you) — so, will probably be stopping by Uniqlo and grabbing some.
My mood this week is clearly along the lines of Parisienne Baddie, which, honestly, I don’t mind.
I’ll also be getting my hair braided this week, which is nice, because whew, I’m not sure what’s going on with my head top.
I’ve been successful in not cutting my hair/shaving my head this year, so now it’s just a matter of finding a consistent hairstyle I can continuously turn to until it’s long enough that I won’t have those urges anymore [to cut my hair].
I’m trying a new salon with week, so… pray for me.
